From 2 to 4 July 2025, the 21st International Forum on Knowledge Asset Dynamics (IFKAD 2025) took
place at the University of Naples Federico II in Naples, Italy.
This year’s conference, themed “Knowledge Futures: AI, Technology, and the New Business Paradigm,”
brought together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to explore how artificial intelligence and
emerging technologies are reshaping knowledge management, organisations, and business models
worldwide.
The event focused on the evolving role of knowledge assets in a highly competitive and digitally driven
environment, encouraging critical reflection on how AI, technology, and human expertise interact to create
sustainable and ethical futures.
DIGICHer Contribution to IFKAD 2025
DIGICHer was represented in the thematic session “AI and Knowledge Futures in Cultural Tourism,”
where Aelita Skaržauskienė, Kristina Kovaitė, Monika Mačiulienė, and Paulius Šūmakaris (VILNIUS TECH)
presented the paper “AI-driven Knowledge Futures: Digital Innovation in Cultural Heritage.”
The presentation explored cultural heritage as a living knowledge asset, shaped by technological
innovation, organisational practices, and community participation. Particular attention was given to how AI
can support knowledge creation, preservation, and storytelling – while maintaining ethical standards,
cultural sensitivity, and inclusive governance.
Key Messages
DIGICHer’s contribution highlighted several key ideas aligned with IFKAD’s core themes:
Cultural heritage functions within complex knowledge ecosystems, not isolated digital systems.
AI should enhance human and community knowledge rather than replace it.
Knowledge management frameworks must account for cultural values and social responsibility.
Co-creation and stakeholder collaboration are essential for sustainable digital transformation.
By bringing cultural heritage into discussions on knowledge futures and new business paradigms,
DIGICHer demonstrated the relevance of heritage research within broader debates on innovation,
technology, and organisational development.
Looking Ahead
Participation in IFKAD 2025 strengthened DIGICHer’s engagement with international knowledge
management and innovation communities, reinforcing the project’s commitment to ethical, inclusive, and
community-centred digital heritage practices
